Cyberpunk: Edgerunners just might have another season coming our way. It appears that fans are gravitating towards a particular message that has emerged online. Could CD Projekt Red be teasing that something else is on the horizon for this spin-off? Whatever this mystery announcement may be, we know it will be unveiled to the public next month.
Cyberpunk 2077 might have stumbled out of the gate. It was a disaster in the eyes of many players. CD Projekt Red hyped up this game so much that they ended up rushing it out the door, complete with bugs. That prompted an all-hands-on-deck situation for the team. Instead of progressing with planned content drops for the game, they rebuilt it to create an actual playable experience.
While they were still striving to turn things around, CD Projekt Red brought out an anime adaptation set within Night City. The series, titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, was released through Netflix. That show did wonders for the game, as it drove more players back into Night City all over again, or for the very first time. Fortunately, CD Projekt Red managed to turn the game around and give players a far more complete and enjoyable RPG experience.
But, thanks to The Gamer, it looks like we might not be done with this series. It’s been found that the official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners X account revealed that they will be attending the Anime Expo this coming month. For those unaware, the event is held in Los Angeles and is set to take place from July 3 through July 6.
That said, it’s noted in the X post that they have a new datadrop ready to be shared. Being that this is announced through the official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners account, it’s believed that we’re getting a new season attached to this series rather than another spin-off to the main Cyberpunk 2077 game. Of course, that’s speculation right now, as we don’t have any insight into what this could be.
At any rate, it’s something to keep tabs on for next month. As for Cyberpunk 2077 fans, we do know a new game installment is in the works. We might even have a clue as to the setting location this time around. However, before we get our hands on that game, we know CD Projekt Red will be delivering The Witcher 4 first, a game that just saw some new footage released during the State of Unreal event.
