The developers of Natural Selection, Unknown Worlds Entertainment, have put out a stunning new trailer for their upcoming game Natural Selection 2 in addition to the launch of the game's beta.
It's an indie game, and it doesn't even come with a chiptune soundtrack. In spite of the fact that it looks like a million dollars, the game is independently developed and powered by the Spark Engine.
Originally developed as a Half-Life mod over a decade ago, Natural Selection 2 is a first person shooter with real-time strategy elements in which two teams take on the roles of the marines and the aliens and battle for dominance over a space station and other futuristic environments. A single commander on each side serves to direct his or her players and expand the base.
If you're interested in Natural Selection 2, be sure to check out the official site. The game is currently in beta and will be available this Summer for the PC. If you pre-order it now, you'll gain immediate access to the beta.
The game is also being considered for release on the Xbox 360 should Unknown Worlds find a publisher.
