There are so many of us waiting to get our hands on Grand Theft Auto VI. The game was slated to launch this year—at least that was the plan when Rockstar Games first released the announcement trailer back in 2023. However, as you all know, this game was pushed back to next year. We’ve got a year to get through now, and I’m sure development costs are still being poured into this production.
Recently, IGN had reported that the estimated costs so far to get Grand Theft Auto VI through the finish line have been an astonishing $1 billion. That’s a massive amount and the biggest for a video game production. So, the bar is set incredibly high as we wait to see what this game offers players when they enter Vice City. Of course, if it’s anything like the release of Grand Theft Auto V, we’re sure costs will quickly be recouped.
IGN noted that in a recent earnings call for Take-Two Interactive, the company believed in allowing Rockstar Games the additional time to finish what it believes is a groundbreaking project and the most anticipated entertainment property of all time.
We know that quite a few fans can’t wait to play the game. There have been countless online posts speculating when the next trailer will arrive and revealing all the fine little details uncovered from the marketing material available.
In recent news, Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, spoke about how the delay of GTA 6 pains him, but he feels good that we’ll see the game release without any further delays. Likewise, we’re all waiting to find out what we’ll have to fork over when it comes to the game’s pricing. The CEO also noted that they always had variable pricing for their games, so just what that means for the release of their most anticipated entertainment property of all time is a mystery.
