Fallout fans will find that Christmas came a little early this year. It was confirmed that we are already getting a third season of the hit Amazon Prime Video series. Today, news emerged that the production was given the official green light to go ahead with a third season before they even finished production with season two.
It wasn’t very long ago that we saw lackluster adaptations of video game franchises. Whether the adaptation was a movie or a TV series, the productions typically strayed far from the source material. However, that has started to change recently. These past few adaptations, such as the Amazon Prime Video series Fallout, have been well-received.
Based on the hit RPG franchise under Bethesda, Fallout only has a single season right now. However, we know that the second season has recently wrapped up filming. Post-production can kick off, and we’ll soon sit in on the next chapter. Fortunately, we already know that a third season has been ordered.
Thanks to a report from Deadline, we’re learning that Amazon Prime Video has ordered season three before season two even airs. That’s a relief, I’m sure, to both viewers and those attached to the production. Of course, just yesterday, we reported on one star of the show, alerting fans they have an exit strategy.
If you haven’t heard, one of the key stars of Fallout has noted that production plans to keep their character around until at least season five. That’s if the show manages to last as long or if production changes its ideas on how long the character will remain in the show.
Meanwhile, in terms of video game news for the IP, we haven’t heard of any new installments in the works. Unofficially, a leak a few years back suggested we would get a remastered release of Fallout 3. Even a former developer behind the game commented on what they would like to see changed for the remastered release. You can read more about their comments right here.
