Tony Hawk and Activision are now clearly dropping teasers for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. But interestingly enough, we still don’t know everything.

The official Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater accounts on Twitter and Instagram shared pictures of Tony and some other veteran skateboarders, posing in front of a large canvas background that shows the iconic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater logo and the word 03.04.25 in it. And they have included the caption: “Loading.. new parks. 3/4/25”
Before we mull it further, we can talk about the other things that were also shared here. For those who can’t identify them, the other skaters with Tony are:
- Steve Caballero
- Kareem Campbell
- Eric Kosto
- Rodney Mullen
These skateboarders were also featured in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. We don’t think there is any remaining ambiguity here regarding what Activision is teasing.
Subsequently, though, there’s other details we noticed that could hint at other things we could be seeing in the future. Steve Caballero posted the same photos on Instagram, and he tagged his fellow skaters, alongside punk band Bodyjar. Bodyjar’s single Not The Same was featured in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3.
We also noticed that Papa Roach commented on Tony’s Instagram post. To be clear, Papa Roach’s single Blood Brothers was in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, as it was also originally in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. And we’ll get back to this later, too.
Finally, Alternative-Age5710 commented on the THPS subreddit that the song Mass Appeal by Gang Starr was playing in Tony’s Instagram post. This song was in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4.
By all accounts, these all seem to hint at Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, which had been rumored for quite some time after the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. We had reported twice that Activision planned but cancelled to make Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. While YouTuber Liam Robertson claimed to have a source in Vicarious Visions, Tony Hawk himself confirmed those plans were cancelled two years before Liam’s video.
Tony started talking about 25th anniversary plans for the franchise last September. And then, a younger skater named Tyshawn Jones suddenly revealed last week in a radio show that he would be in a Tony Hawk game, specifically a remaster. Call of Duty developers also dropped a hint about the new game in a player map last week.
But the way Activision has phrased these teasers leaves us wondering. Will Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 be a completely new game, or are they planned as DLC for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2? There’s just enough room to speculate if we aren’t getting a separate release for this after all.
To be fair, every new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater release had to be justified with new gameplay systems and innovations, but players may be satisfied with the system that Vicarious Visions came up with for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. So if Activision sees the proper way forward is DLC to incorporate the succeeding sequels, it may suit players just fine. That may also explain why Papa Roach seemed to also be excited for it.
With all that said, we don’t even know what the game’s studio is yet, so we’ll just have to wait until next month to see what they have planned.
