Hogwarts Legacy fans, get ready, as official mod support is coming! We love seeing developers release the necessary tools to help give the community access to develop new content. So, while we wait to see when this talented team releases the next installment, we’ll get content to keep us connected to the Hogwarts Legacy for the long haul.
The developers announced the free update for the game on the official Hogwarts Legacy YouTube channel, which will be available on January 30, 2025. Unfortunately, this update is only for PC, and it’s uncertain if mod support will be available on other platforms at the moment. Regardless, mod support on PC will come with a Creator Kit.
The Creator Kit, which is only available in English, will enable players the tools to start creating content. This can vary from small changes to clothing to even more notable updates like brand-new quests. From there, players can easily upload the mods to the game, where others can freely download it.
A few examples are already showcased in the video, which you can view below. Again, it’s what you would typically expect from mods. Players will find new hairstyles, clothing, alternative broomsticks for traversal, and even some quests or dungeons.
Developers have already connected with some modders to help prepare some content for others to enjoy. That means right out of the gate, when this update drops on January 30, 2025, you’ll already have some content you can download and enjoy. Of course, we don’t imagine it will take very long before we see a ton of different mods get uploaded to the in-game marketplace.
While this mod is only available on the PC platform right now, the game is widely available for those who have yet to try Hogwarts Legacy. This title was released in 2023, and outside of PC, it’s available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
