With about a week until Homefront: The Revolution, a new story trailer was just released.
You play Ethan Brady, a new recruit of the Philadelphia resistance. Your mission is to save Benjamin Walker, the “Voice of Freedom” that can help the oppressed American people rise against their rulers.
THQ developed the original 2011 Homefront game, and it received an average reception from critics. When THQ went bankrupt, the license for the series ended up with Deep Silver. The storyline centers around a resistance group fighting against an invasion by a unified Korean country.
It seems like the team behind this game has really improved upon their initial premise. An open world campaign sounds like a better fit compared to the Call of Duty style first person shooter of the original 2011 game. You’ll craft your own guns from salvaged parts, explore the different districts of an occupied Philadelphia, and undergo missions to take back the city. Check out in-game screenshots, see for yourself.
If you preorder the game, you get the “Revolutionary Spirit Pack”. Which means you get a golden skin for your pistol, and a “Red Skull” skin for your motorbike. The thought of riding around on a motorbike, and causing chaos, is definitely exciting. You also get a sniper scope, remote explosives, and a marksman rifle for your co-op character.
Homefront: The Revolution comes out on May 17th for America, and for the rest of the world on May 20th for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
