Mario & Luigi Brothership Twice the Size and Double the Fun

November 4, 2024 by Andrew McKay

This Nintendo carts are getting chunky…

Mario and Luigi: Brothership – the next instalment in a series of turn-based role-playing games, is almost upon us. Coming to the Switch on November 7th, this offering promises to bring a jaunty Island-hopping experience to all. However, the improved graphics and vast content also come at a price… more memory!

The game will be with us shortly and with that fans of the franchise and platform have started to notice the impressive size of the game, especially for a Mario & Luigi game… 9.9Gb.

In today’s day and age, it might not seem like all that much memory. But in comparison to other Switch titles, this is rather large. Reddit user: AngryCharizard, shared a size comparison of the most popular first-party Switch games.

As you can see Mario & Luigi Brothership comes in as the fourth largest game on the list. Dwarfing Mario Odyssey and Echoes of Wisdom. Other recently released RPG offerings like Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Paper Mario: The Origami King are also quite large but Brothership is roughly 50% larger.

Hopefully, by this point, most fans have gotten themselves some extra storage, if not, check out this article detailing some of your options. If you are curious about the ever-growing size of Switch games check out this piece.

You can pre-order the game now.
