Resident Evil fans have been enjoying a great set of games lately. The folks at Capcom have been on fire with new installments and remakes. However, you might be disappointed if you were hoping that the next set of remakes will hit the same strides as Resident Evil 4. A new report from a credible leaker just spilled some new information about what is happening behind the scenes.
Fans of the Resident Evil remakes are just coming off Resident Evil 4. For many players, this was an incredibly successful release and a game that met or even exceeded their expectations. But that might have been the only big remake Capcom planned on. This comes from Dusk Golem, which we’re learning about through a Reddit post.
For those familiar with Resident Evil leaks, Dusk Golem should be a game you’ll recognize. This individual has revealed several details about what Capcom has been doing with Resident Evil in the past. So, when Dusk Golem makes a new report, it gains a lot of attention within the community. The latest report deals with how Capcom is not expecting the next two remakes to be as ambitious as Resident Evil 4.
Dusk Golem noted on Discord that Capcom might not have as ambitions to release a game to top Resident Evil 4’s remake, but two remake installments are in the works right now. It’s noted that Capcom is bringing out Resident Evil: Zero and Resident Evil: Code Veronica next into the marketplace. It’s unfortunate for fans who were hopeful the next remake installment would tackle Resident Evil 5, as it seems we might be waiting longer for that to come to fruition.
Additionally, it’s noted that Capcom is also working on the next major installment to the franchise, Resident Evil 9. However, beyond that, we haven’t seen anything official from Capcom about what to expect from the franchise next. Meanwhile, fans might be fine with ambitions being dialed back as long as the games are faithful to the original installments. After all, Resident Evil 3 received some flack due to the developers cutting content featured in the original game.
