Planet Coaster 2 Release Date Confirmed For November 6

September 12, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

Consoles and PC players can now mark their calendars.

Planet Coaster 2 was unveiled earlier this year, and fans of the franchise were ecstatic. This new installment from the talented team at Frontier Developments was pushing through another exciting management and construction simulation game. While we are still getting the various thrill rides from the first installment, the big focus for the sequel was the addition of water parks.

If you wanted your theme park to make a splash, you’d finally get to do so with the upcoming sequel. Frontier Developments unveiled on their X social media account that Planet Coaster 2 will arrive in the marketplace on November 6, 2024. Previously, the studio was only suggesting a fall launch window. But now that we have the official date, you can start marking down your calendars for its eventual arrival. That should help add to the anticipation for this game.

It’s happening! 😱🎉

If you played the first installment, you know what to expect here. Players are getting the ability to build their own unique and creative theme parks. This includes adding the various rides and decor around the park and managing those working there. Developers are striving to make several improvements over the last installment, and as mentioned, one of the ways they aimed to do that is by providing access to water-themed rides and pools.

We previously spoke with Rich Newbold, the game director for Planet Coaster 2. During our conversation, Rich noted that they heard about the much-requested access to water parks for the franchise, and they wanted to deliver that with this installment. That will prompt some new creative ideas on how players will design their own parks.

Of course, you’ll want to ensure your guests find the park entertaining. So, a big portion of this game is tending to the needs of your guests and solving problems that might pop up as you maintain your park. You can read more about what to expect with this sequel installment in our interview right here.

Meanwhile, those of you who want to pick up a copy of the game can once again expect its release on November 6, 2024. Players will find Planet Coaster 2 will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
