Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was announced just a couple of days ago with Activision and developers Infinity Ward showcasing the game’s visuals.
Not everyone was impressed by what they had to show, least of all the game’s competitors at DICE, who develop the Battlefield series of games.
While most developers would often comment on how “good” the game looked, even if it didn’t, these Battlefield devs refused to mince words and said what they thought, calling Infinite Warfare’s visuals quaint, unimpressive and dated.
DICE Video & Media Editor Roland Smedberg commented that the graphics resembled something out of 2010, with editing skills to match.
Smedberg went on to say that the Internet would “melt” once they saw the Battlefield 5 reveal, which is happening this Friday.
Asked for his thoughts, Randy Evans, who’s developing the trailer for the upcoming Battlefield 5 reveal was crystal clear in his disdain.
DICE Engineer Julian Manolov was unimpressed by the trailer’s lack of any actual gameplay, which instead showed a lot of CG.
It’s honestly quite refreshing to see what developers actually think. What did you think of the trailer?
