There is a ton of love towards Black Myth: Wukong. The game was a hit right out of the gates, and players are still picking up their own copy of the title. However, if you were one of the few who immediately played through the game and were eager for more, you’re in luck. A new expansion has been confirmed, so you can prepare to spend even more time with this game in the near future.
Thanks to a report from PlayStation LifeStyle, we’re learning about a Bloomberg interview with Game Science’s Daniel Wu. The developer mainly focused on the history of his time in game development and the struggles of dealing with a series of flops before finally striking gold with Black Myth: Wukong. This game has been incredibly lucrative so far for the team, and players are certainly interested in learning what’s next for this IP.
During their conversation, it was unveiled that a new chapter would be coming. The next installment won’t be a sequel quite yet. Instead, the developers are working on an expansion, but now details are unavailable. We just know that it won’t take several years to bring it out into the marketplace, and we know that expansions can be just as significant of a hit as their base game. So, plenty of hype is already building up around what this expansion could bring for players to enjoy.
Regardless, we only know of one expansion so far. If you recall, it was unveiled by an online leaker who stated Black Myth: Wukong was initially supposed to be a much longer game. However, due to budget constraints, the developers dialed things back. As a result, there were plans to deliver two DLC expansions to the game. So far, we only know of one that is officially in the works.
If you haven’t picked up a copy of Black Myth: Wukong, it’s now available for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. We’re still waiting to see when the game will be available for Xbox Series X/S players. However, you can view our Before You Buy video coverage of the game, which is embedded below.
