If you’re gaming on the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, then you might have heard about this PS Store exploit. Everyone wants a good deal. It’s not uncommon to seek out deals and sales. Often, Sony puts out its sales and advertises them on the PS Store. But if that isn’t good enough for you, then you might have to visit the Turkiye PS Store.
Thanks to the PlayStation Lifestyle publication, we’re learning about this exploit and how it’s no longer working. Apparently, PlayStation players were using the Turkiye PS Store to purchase their digital games at a significant discount. This was due to the downfall of the Turkish Lira. That allowed some players to score some games at a nice discount compared to what they would cost in their own home country’s digital storefront. But that came to an end not long ago.
Sony first made it to where players had to use a payment tied to being within the country. That prompted sellers within the country to act as a middleman. They would purchase the games for international buyers for a small fee. But that was even cracked down as it’s now reported that the games within the storefront now match the USD counterpart prices.
This is a hit for those within the country who could purchase the games without paying a small fortune. But that also means international buyers are left with purchasing the games within their own home country’s digital storefront. Of course, it remains to be seen if this is reversed, but Turkish gamers might be forced to deal with the same price tag as most everywhere else in the world.
