The supposed release date for LEGO Horizon Adventures was recently posted on the PlayStation Store for a brief time before being taken down. Spotted by a Reddit user, the game was listed as having a November 15 release date on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
LEGO Horizon Adventures was first announced at this year’s Summer Game Fest. The title will have a lighter story for all ages to enjoy and will focus on both engaging solo and multiplayer gameplay, allowing for both couch and online co-op. Cross-platform co-op will be supported.
It’s also possible that the game will appear during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation.
During a recent interview with VGC, James Windeler, a narrative director at Guerrilla, discussed the reasons why the team decided to release LEGO Horizon Adventures on Nintendo Switch despite being a PlayStation studio.
“It was just a really unique opportunity for us. It was a natural fit for the ambitions that we had,” Windeler said. “I keep mentioning it, but we want this to be for everyone, and the Switch is really a platform that allows us to broaden the audience.
“That ethos goes all the way through the game, from the control schemes which are quite simple, [for example] it works on a single Joy-Con, and then also the simplification of the story, the lightening of the themes, the humor – it’s all part of the same ambition.”
LEGO Horizon Adventures will have five different difficulty levels and will include the weak point targeting system from previous Horizon games. The game’s hub world can also be extensively customized.
