Following the release of the Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV on July 2 and Patch 7.01 on July 16, Square Enix has revealed the changes coming to the popular MMO in today’s new Patch 7.05. Notably, more powerful players now have the chance to take on Savage versions of the AAC Light-heavyweight Tier raids.
Additionally, Cenote Ja Ja Gural has been added. This new Treasure Dungeon can be found by finding and opening treasure coffers obtained by using Br’aaxskin Treasure Maps.
Many jobs are seeing changes, with the Black Mage seeing increased potency across the board and Viper now more simplified and streamlined. Strangely, the massively powerful Pictomancer doesn’t see a single change.
“At present, the DPS of Pictomancer is higher than we originally expected,” the Job Guide reads. “Because they have a number of actions with long cast times, and no means of reviving others in combat, we intended for them to have comparable DPS to melee jobs alongside Black Mage.
There is a significant gap in the DPS between these two caster jobs, however, which is why we have increased the potencies of Black Mage actions. That said, we also increased the potency of actions for the other magical ranged DPS jobs and physical ranged DPS jobs, to ensure there is no large disparity.”
The patch also brings new mounts, furnishings, elite marks, recipes, and items.
The Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, released on July 2, brought a level cap boost from 90 to 100, a new playable race, two new DPS classes, new cities, new dungeons and raids, a new limited job, and an entirely new story arc. Recently, the game’s director Naoki Yoshida expressed interest in adding 24-player savage raids.
The 7.0 update also improved the game’s visuals, including textures, hair, grass, shadows, and reflections. This is the title’s first graphical upgrade since it was first released in 2013.
