Announced in June, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is promising to give players nightmares for years to come. Based on the films of the same name, stealth will be key, as the series place in a world inhabited by blind alien creatures with an acute sense of hearing. Ahead of the title’s release later this year, the devs have revealed 10 minutes of gameplay footage with IGN.
Check out 10 stressful minutes of A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead gameplay below:
“A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a single-player horror adventure game inspired by the critically acclaimed blockbuster movie franchise that highlights a unique survivor story after an invasion of deadly creatures,” the title’s official description reads. “In this exclusive spin-off, experience the journey of a young woman who must endure a treacherous apocalypse in the midst of interpersonal family conflicts, all while coming to terms with her own inner fears.”
The game promises an unnerving atmosphere, as players will need to move around while staying absolutely silent to avoid monsters that hunt using sound.
The first film in the A Quiet Place film series was released in 2018. A Quiet Place Part II followed in 2020 and a spin-off film, A Quiet Place: Day One, will be released in theaters on June 28. The third and final sequel, A Quiet Place Part III, is scheduled to be released sometime in 2025.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam in 2024.
