Black Myth: Wukong Gets New Trailer Ahead of Summer Release

May 20, 2024 by Carley Garcia

The Chinese action RPG will finally be released in August.

As part of the WeGame Tonight 2024 event being held in China, Game Science has released a stunning new trailer for the upcoming action title Black Myth: Wukong. First announced back in 2020, the game is now only three months away from release.

Check out the breathtaking new trailer below:

Rooted in Chinese Mythology, Black Myth: Wukong is based on Journey to the West, one of the great classical novels of Chinese literature. Players will set out as the Destined One, taking on various challenges and exploring to “uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past,” according to the official description.

In March, Nvidia announced that the game would launch with both path tracing and DLSS 3.5 support.

“Enabling Full Ray Tracing in Black Myth: Wukong sees environmental effects and detail taken to the next level. Reflections on water reflect all surrounding detail. Water caustics add further realism, accurately rendering the refraction and reflection of light. Fully ray-traced Global Illumination ensures lighting indoors and outdoors is pixel perfect, darkening areas where light is occluded or doesn’t reach, and realistically illuminating the world by bouncing light,” a blog post on Nvidia’s website reads.

In 2020, Game Science posted a 13-minute pre-alpha gameplay video of the title which racked up over 25 million views on the Chinese video site Bilibili.

Black Myth: Wukong is set to release on August 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
