The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is the game’s second major expansion that’s set for release later this year. It’s been rumored to come out prior to E3 2016 in June. A few days ago, the game’s developers at CD Projekt Red released a handful of new screenshots showing off some of the expansion’s new notable characters and its lush environments.
Today, the developers released a new screenshot of the title that depicts a gory mess. You can view it in all its uncensored glory below.
Far from the swamplands of the original game, the expansion will take place in Toussaint, a new realm that the developers are making for the expansion, who describe it as “carefree and colorful.” There’s gigantic mushrooms, ferns, and a real Mediterranean vibe.
The devs had originally planned to release more screenshots last week but due to “unforeseen technical issues,” the rest of them had to be delayed. Presumably, the new screenshot is one of the images that they couldn’t show. We hope that they’ll share even more screenshots beyond this one, if only to keep us satiated as we wait for the expansion’s release.
Expect more information to drop in May. We’ll be covering it.
The Witcher 3 was one of our favorite games of 2015. If you’ve yet to play it, you should.
