CD Projekt Red Is Not Ready To Tease Project Hadar Just Yet

February 20, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

The studio’s first new IP is still a mystery.

CD Projekt Red has made quite a name for themselves. They are known for delivering thrilling RPGs; over the years, the studio has managed to thrive. That ultimately means adding more resources, which results in multiple game projects being in the works. We already know a few of these projects that the studio is attached to. But one game project that some fans anticipate is still being kept under wraps.

I’m, of course, referring to Project Hadar. If you have been following news for CD Projekt Red, you know that Project Hadar is their first new original IP coming out into the marketplace. But that’s just about everything we know about this game project. CD Projekt Red has yet to pull back the veil on what this project might entail. That has left some fans speculating online on what it could be.

One of those speculations came from the X account, TheNeonArcade, where they guessed we might find Project Hadar revolving around a cosmic horror or even set in feudal Japan. But the Co-CEO of CD Projekt Red, Michal Nowakowski, responded that this game is definitely not a cosmic horror in feudal Japan. That doesn’t help out much, but the Co-CEO noted that they are not ready to spill the beans yet, so don’t hold your breath on any news regarding Project Hadar in the immediate future.

Can only tell it’s definitely NOT a cosmic horror in feudal Japan 😉 Time will come, we will spill the beans. Worry not 🙂 https://t.co/O21IleS7P9

Of course, there are other projects that the studio is attached to where we do have just a small bit of insight. For instance, we just received Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty last year, which was the concluding chapter of Cyberpunk 2077. There’s nothing else planned for the game, and instead, CD Projekt Red North America is tackling Project Orion. We know that Project Orion is set to be a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. However, we don’t know if this will rely on players having gone through the first game and its expansion.

Furthermore, we know that there is also Project Polaris. This is the first new game set for The Witcher franchise and will kick off another trilogy. Again, just what this game will entail remains a mystery, but it is gearing into full production. So, hopefully, we will get some kind of news regarding where this franchise is taking players next. Also, maybe we will get some insight into whether Geralt will be making an appearance.
