Dark Souls 3 Delivers Cryptic Patch 1.04 Notes, Releases Today

April 18, 2016 by Mason Cade Packer

Does Dark Souls 3 Just Grind Your Gears? Good. It’s About To Get a Whole Lot Better- We Think.

Dark Souls 3_2
Dark Souls 3 has probably brought you to tears by now- right? Well thankfully, developer FromSoftware is releasing a patch today that brings an array of cryptic improvements to the game and hopefully some tissues to your sob party, or maybe a squeezy stress ball- you know, for all that rage (Damn you Nameless King).

Patch 1.04 (PS4 and Xbox One) / 1.03.1 (PC) Notes:

・ Performance adjustment for “Greatsword”
・ Battle performance adjustment for “Dancer’s Enchanted Sword”, “Winged Knight Twinaxes”
・ Performance adjustment for “Soul’s Greatsword”, and “Farron Flashsword”
・ Fix for issue where multiple items become impossible to use at “Road of Sacrifices”, “Farron Keep”, “Cathedral of the Deep” after clearing the game.
・ General balance adjustments and bug fixes

The patch is set to go live at 11am CEST/ 2am PST and won’t require any maintenance downtime.

So you’re probably thinking the same as me. What does any of this actually mean? Well- let me break it down for you. FromSoftware have generally always been pretty secretive about their patches, always allowing the gamer to figure out the changes for themselves, and we seem to have caught them beating the same drum here.

Recently FromSoftware apologised for the longer than usual wait times for password specific matchmaking, stating:

“Password matching done under the following conditions may result in an extended amount of time required for the match to complete. Many players are signed in the corresponding area. There is a large gap between the levels of the players who are using the password.”

However, there’s no mention of this in the patch notes.
