An accidental posting from Xbox might have revealed when gamers will get their hands on Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1! You’ll find the listing from Xbox in the tweet below, but in essence, the post on the official store page for the game on Xbox systems says that Omni-Man will be released on November 6th to those with “early access.” What precisely that means is up in the air, but regardless, we could be getting the Viltrumite warrior in the game sooner than expected. But before we go any further, it should be noted that NetherRealm Studios hasn’t confirmed this release date, and “leaks” like these have been misconstrued in the past.
That said, we got a first look at Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1 via New York Comic Con. In it, he used his overwhelming power to dominate opponents while also referencing the series he came from. That included grabbing a foe and using them as a “shield” as a train full of people barreled into them. It was really gory.
Plus, we got to hear the voice of J.K. Simmons once again as he voiced Omni-Man, further completing the “package” that fans were hoping to see.
Even if the release date for Omni-Man is off a little, it’s good to know that we’ll see the character in a few weeks, as this will kick off the rest of the Kombat Pack arrivals. While some of the new characters are foes we’re familiar with, like Quan Chi, other crossover fighters like Peacemaker and Homelander enter the ring. All three of these crossover characters have been huge hits with fans over the last few years due to their adaptations in the animated and live-action space, so, unsurprisingly, NetherRealm Studios is banking off of that to try and give fans something special for the game.
Plus, if recent “accidental leaks” are to be believed, things aren’t going won’t end there. A recent “leak” from one of the game’s voice actors seems to point to the T-1000 Terminator being brought into the next Kombat Pack, and he’ll be voiced by Robert Patrick, who played the iconic villain in the movie it’s from.
And if that character is coming into the mix, then NetherRealm Studios clearly has some other plans in store for fans. Ed Boon teased that another horror movie villain could make it into the game, so anything is on the table!
