For those wanting to get a taste of what the Chaos Warriors faction has in store for them in Total War: Warhammer, Creative Assembly just revealed the newest unit of the Chaos Warriors faction, the Manticore.
With the wings of a bat and body of a lion, chaos manticores are ferocious beasts that Dark Elves believe are the living incarnations of Khaine, the Elven god of war and murder. It seems like the Manticores will act as mounts available for the Chaos Lord and the Exalted Hero.
The Chaos Warrior faction joins the Empire, Dwarves, Greenskins, and the Vampire Counts as the fifth playable faction in Total War: Warhammer, however they are currently the only faction that is available as DLC, with those who pre-order the game getting access to them for free. Regardless of whether you have the DLC or not though, the Chaos Warriors will still appear as a faction in the game that you can do battle against.
Total War: Warhammer marks the first time that the turn based strategy franchise has dipped its toes into a fictional license, and will seek to combine the turn-based campaign of conquest and empire-building of prior Total War games with huge real-time battles set in the vivid world of Warhammer 40k. The game will release on May 24 for PC.
