Silent Hill 2 Remake Launch Window Leaks Online

June 29, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

A voice actor might have let it slip ahead of Konami.

Silent Hill fans were left in desolation for years. It seemed that Konami all but forgot that this IP existed. After waiting for some kind of a revival for the franchise, it was finally unveiled to the masses last year that several games are in the works. One of the titles that had plenty of eyes focusing on during the big reveal last year was a remake of Silent Hill 2.

The Silent Hill 2 installment is a big one, and it’s credited as being one of the best survival horror games out there. With so much attention put on the game, Konami is likely trying to be careful in how they market and present it. For instance, a launch window is one of the components that fans are waiting to be unveiled here. We don’t know when this game will be released into the marketplace as the official word has yet to be unveiled. But it looks like a voice actor might have let it slip.

If you don’t know, Luke Roberts is the voice actor that will be voicing the role of James Sunderland. This is the game’s main protagonist, and it would seem like Luke would have some insight into the production. Thanks to a report on Resetera, we’re finding out that a fan messaged Luke on Instagram asking when the Silent Hill 2 remake would be coming out. Too much of the fan community surprise, Luke messaged back, saying he believed it would be early next year.

It’s not a detailed launch window for the game, but it’s something that Konami has yet to unveil. Meanwhile, this would make sense as there are likely plenty of marketing materials they could start handing out to hype the game launch. At any rate, we’re still waiting for Konami to make the grand reveal of when this title will make its way out into the marketplace.

Again, for those who might not be aware, this remake is coming from Bloober Team. Recently, the studio expressed interest in moving into the horror genre that offered a bit more depth regarding mechanics. Their first take on that would be this remake after coming from their recent Layers of Fear release. But for those who might be entirely new to the Silent Hill franchise, this game can be enjoyed without going back and playing the original Silent Hill title.

Silent Hill 2 is a standalone survival horror experience. Players will take the role of a man named James Sunderland, who receives a letter from his believed deceased wife. Seeking answers, James is convinced to travel into the town of Silent Hill and track down his wife, Mary. You can view the announcement trailer below while we wait for the game to receive a release date.
