The second episode of Hitman, ‘Sapienza’, will be released on Tuesday, April 26th, developer IO Interactive announced on Twitter today.
Owners of the game’s Full Experience season pass will be able to unlock the episode for free. Otherwise, it will cost $9.99/£7.99 if you’ve downloaded the first episode. Those who picked up the game’s Intro Pack can upgrade for £36.99/$39.99 for the full season.
Sapienza is a fictional Italian town with wide explorable locations such as a mansion, alleyways, shops, and a medieval church. The location was originally due for inclusion with Hitman when it launched but Sapienza was pushed back to April when the game switched to the episodic model.
After Italy, players will be whisked off to Morocco in May. The first episode, which is available now, is set in a secret ICA facility and at a fashion show in Paris.
“From a luxurious mansion to the medieval church situated by the beach and the cramped alleys littered with stores, Sapienza is a dense location full of challenges and packed with opportunities and stories for the enterprising player to unfold,” Square Enix said. “And as with all locations within Hitman, dark secrets, and engaging stories are everywhere to be found in charming Sapienza.”

In the Gameranx review of Hitman’s first episode, we said, “Hitman offers a myriad number of ways to eliminate targets from the obvious to the devious to the subtle and you can strive to find these on your own or discover the options open to you in the game’s Challenges page. Given the relative scarcity of content contained within the first episode, the allure at this point is finding new ways to get the job done and improving on what you thought was your best.”
All of the remaining Hitman episodes will be released by the end of the summer.
