Dying Light fans were finally given a sequel installment last year. But before the game’s launch, developers Techland had previously confirmed that this title would receive plenty of support. In fact, it was stated that there would be at least five years of support after the game launch. This support would include updates and DLC. But those itching to get their hands on the second DLC release will find that this expansion just got pushed back to 2024.
The news came earlier today directly from the Dying Light website. According to a new blog post, it looks like the developers have decided to postpone the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human DLC2 to next year. This delay would allow the development team to deliver the best story expansion possible. Furthermore, we already knew that this next DLC would offer more content than fans requested. If you recall an earlier interview with Gamerant and franchise director Tymon Smektala, the focus on DLC2 was to provide players with the content they wanted from Techland.
Tymon noted previously that the efforts in their string of updates and even the first DLC were a means to see what exactly players wanted with the game. It was essentially a test to see what worked and the feedback they received. So by the time players got through DLC1, Techland determined that DLC2 should provide a new storyline for players to go through. While details are scarce, and information was previously promised to come when the DLC got closer to launch, we did have a little bit of insight into what we are getting.
So far, what we know about DLC2 is that this content would provide a new storyline, region, and focus on the infected. But now we’ll be waiting a bit longer before we can get additional insight into what that will entail. At any rate, while we wait for a new release date to get attached for DLC2, players can catch up on the game and the first DLC if they have yet to play through Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
Currently, Dying Light 2 Stay Human is available to pick up on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. Although, we do know that there is work going into a release for the Nintendo Switch platform.
