A calendar has gone up on the Call of Duty website outlining the release schedule for the remaining 18 "content drops" that will be available to Elite subscribers.
All told, Modern Warfare 3 will be getting ten maps, two new game modes, and six new Spec Ops missions over the next eight months. Here's the full breakdown:
- February: New map
- March: New map, two new Spec Ops missions
- April: Two new maps
- May: New map, new Spec Ops mission
- June: New map, new Spec Ops mission, new game mode
- July: Two new maps
- August: New map, new Spec Ops mission, new game mode
- September: New map, new Spec Ops mission
All drops will be released first to premium Elite subscribers on the Xbox 360. After an unspecified exclusivity period, the content will then be made available to paid members on the PS3.
Those who haven't ponied up for Elite will need to wait for Activision to release more traditional DLC bundles, the first of which is scheduled to hit in March. For the foreseeable future, that includes all PC players, as Activision has put the PC version of Elite on the backburner.
The first two DLC drops, the Liberation and Piazza maps, were released yesterday for 360 Elite subscribers.
