I Am Alive Trailer Offers a Unique Approach to Combat

January 18, 2012 by Josh Harmon

Don’t expect to run-and-gun your way through this one.

In a refreshing change from most post-apocalyptic action games, Ubisoft's I Am Alive won't just hand over a steady stream of bullets to allow you to slaughter your way through the wasteland. Ammunition will be a rarity, the game will force you to thoughtfully ration your use of deadly force.

As you can see in the newly released trailer, you'll need to rely on stealth, hand-to-hand combat, and even a bit of bluffing to make your way through the game. After all, who's going to want to charge the guy with the gun to see if it's actually loaded?

I Am Alive will be headed to XBLA and PSN sometime soon, though a firm date has yet to be announced for either platform. The 360 version of the game will be a part of Microsoft's month-long XBLA House Party promotion. That kicks off on February 15th, so we can likely expect a release sometime between then and the middle of March.
