The developers at 343 Industries have listened to the game’s community and are responding by developing an oft-requested PvE mode, the studio revealed in a blog post on the future of Halo 5: Guardians‘ multiplayer.
Titled Warzone Firefight, 343 began “some serious investigation into the development of the mode” after it became clear even before launch that there was widespread demand for PvE gameplay. This mode allows players to join together with other Spartans to tackle a range of common enemies while using all of your custom armour and colours. More than 2,000 armour colour combinations are available in the game following the recent Hammer Storm update.
Details about the mode, including when it will be available, were not provided but you can check out a new screenshot below.
Beyond Warzone Firefight, additional maps, vehicles, weapons, and REQs are all on the way to the game. 343 is also planning a number of additional updates and tweaks based on player requests and feedback. The development team says it’s “just getting started”.
The next major release fans can expect is called Ghosts of Meridian and more information about what to expect will be revealed over the coming weeks. Ghosts of Meridian is currently slated for an early April release, this is somewhat later than usual for a multiplayer update for the game.
More information is available on Halo Waypoint.
Halo 5: Guardians launched last November and is the second title in the Reclaimer Saga. While the game’s campaign was broadly considered to be underwhelming, Guardians’ multiplayer has one of the best multiplayer components in years.
