If you were on the PlayStation 4 store page last night, then you may have caught a glimpse of a new user interface that wasn’t ready for an official release.
Apparently, someone at Sony got a bit too trigger happy and launched the update before its intended releases thus Sony scrambled to take down the revamped PlayStation Store for their current user interface. However, if you didn’t get a chance to look at the new enhanced PlayStation Store menu and displays then you’re in luck. Some users managed to get a number of screenshots, which you can see below.
According to users who managed to catch the updated PlayStation 4 storefront, there were a few new tweaks and additions placed within the menus. Gamers could clearly see both the download size and the various features for each video game title offered through the PlayStation Network while new menus would showcase bundles, avatars, themes, media, and recommendations for other video game titles.
One particular feature that is present within the PlayStation Store update is that every video game within the PlayStation Store will have an automatic trailer playing within the background. This is already a feature most gamers have voiced negative opinions about.
It remains to be seen whether Sony will take this negative feedback–limited though it may be–into account before actually launching the new interface on the PlayStation 4. I’m sure the forums will be clogged with complaints about it should they decide to launch it without changing anything about the leaked system as it currently is.
