Raw Fury Reveals Post Trauma At The Game Awards

December 8, 2022 by Paul James

Feel the terror

Developer Red Soul Games and publisher Raw Fury have shown a brand new trailer for Post Trauma at the Geoff Keighley hosted-The Game Awards, announced to come to PC and consoles at a to-be-determined date.

The game’s Steam listing has gone live as well, revealing a range of details about the title

True horror lives in our minds.

“Dive into the twisted reality of Post Trauma, where survival comes at the cost of unexpected encounters and mysteries.

Post Trauma is both a tribute to and a modern take on classic horror games, blending old-school fixed camera angles with high fidelity graphics, smooth controls and immersive soundscapes.

  • Play as Roman, a middle-aged train conductor, as he tries to understand and escape the surreal world he’s trapped in.
  • Classic horror games mechanics get a modern twist, blending fixed camera angles with a truly modern presentation and control types, including optional tank controls.
  • Immerse yourself in beautifully unsettling environments and a deeply consuming audio landscape.
  • Solve puzzles and riddles with the information you will gather exploring your surroundings to progress in the game and try to explain what is happening to you and the world around you.
  • Unravel haunting mysteries and face or escape nightmarish creatures at every turn.”

The developers even make a note at the end of the game that highlights the puzzling nature of the game as well, saying, “In order to play this game it’s recommended to keep a notepad with you.” I don’t know about you but the idea that I could be head down taking down some notes only to look up and some horrific monster is there terrifying me, doesn’t feel like the most appealing prospect for this non-horror lover

Interestingly, this is not the first time we’ve seen Post Trauma before. The game still has an early build available on itch.io that players can check out, but it’s interesting to see how the pitch has also changed since. The original listing on itch.io says,

“Post Trauma is a game that takes inspiration from classic horror games.

  • Play as Roman, a 57 year old man who has awakened in a strange and hostile place and find a way back home with his family.
  • Get inside this world through fixed camera angles, alternating the gameplay with some sections in first person view.
  • Solve puzzles and riddles with the information you will gather exploring your surroundings.
  • Avoid (or kill) the creatures that you will find along the way, but be careful because some of them might not be hostile.”
