Multiversus has been a surprise hit for gamers and critics alike. The fighting game that mixes the properties of Warner Bros Discovery has done more than well. It’s thrived, partially because the game hasn’t fully launched yet. The current beta has been going on for months, and the Player First Games team is doing its best to use it as the ultimate playtest to see what works, what doesn’t, and how to improve things overall. But, even with that, they’re making sure the game is packed to the gills with content so that people come back and play it. They’ve even made seasons for the game despite the title not being fully released.
Season 1, as it was officially known, had many additions that made gamers happy. There were plenty of new additions to the roster through characters like Rick and Morty, Black Adam, Stripe, etc. Plus, there were multiple new additions to the gameplay via Arcade Mode, rewards for advancing through the game, etc. But now, the game is about to hit its next level, as yesterday, the team revealed that maintenance would soon happen to welcome in Multiversus Season 2:
That would mean that, at the time of this posting, we’re less than an hour before the maintenance happens, and Season 2 will start. Many expect that a teaser of what’s to come will occur. But as of yet, no announcement has been made.
The biggest thing players expect is a tease of new characters that’ll come throughout the new season. Thanks to a graphic, we knew about Black Adam and Stripe long before they arrived in the game. Perhaps we could get one of those at the start of Season 2. It hasn’t been long since Black Adam rounded out the last of the Season 1 characters, so Player First Games might wait to see what and who they bring in next.
So, given that, who is likely to join the game? Over the past few months, there have been many rumors about who might join the fray, including characters like Gandalf, the Wicked Witch of the West, Neo, and more. Given that we’ve already had a wide range of characters from a wide range of properties you wouldn’t expect to have in a fighting game like this, anything is possible.
So stay tuned to the Multiversus social media handles. You might get a glimpse at what’s to come and who might be the next character you play as.
