Heavy Rain was a good game – I think we've got to the point where we can look back and unanimously agree on that. It was different, it had its faults but, on the whole, it offered something unique and enjoyable. Sure, the plot holes are annoying as hell and the DLC was cut short but, for what it's worth, Heavy Rain deserves to be played.
And played it was, as the infographic below (lovingly stolen from IGN) proves. Three million people played the game, of which 74% finished it. It wasn't a long game, but that's very much above the 10-20% that some developers expect from people buying their game. 33%, so not quite half of the people who finished the game, managed to keep all the characters alive by the time they'd finished. Around 87% of those who finished the game managed to save Shaun, that's 65% of the total. Only 4% of people saw all the endings, 3% managed to get the platinum trophy.
Interesting stuff, but just why does Ethan constantly black out and then wake up somewhere else holding a piece of origami? Nobody will ever know…
