Rebellion has revealed some brand-new content for Sniper Elite 5 today. The highly popular World War 2 shooter title, which is still going strong with players after its launch earlier this year, has been given a new multiplayer map and additional DLC.
The new map, titled “Kraken’s Lair,” is free for all players of Sniper Elite 5 to download and jump into. This new playable zone will take players back to a location they may recognise from the base game’s main storyline. The “Kraken’s Lair” in this instance is actually the Nazi submarine pen from Sniper Elite 5‘s campaign. This time though, the area has been kitted out especially for some multiplayer action, meaning that players can snipe one another from on high thanks to the submarine’s overhead walkways. Additionally, those who favour a more close combat approach will be able to duke it out on the submarine’s narrow decks and corridors, for that truly claustrophobic assassination vibe. The new content makes its debut alongside a special trailer for the map and accompanying Up Close & Personal content. Check it out right here for a first look at the new multiplayer area.
Alongside the free map comes the Up Close & Personal DLC, which comes as part of Season Pass One, costing $34.99, or as a standalone purchase for $10.99. The available weapon and skin pack contains two new high-powered weapons as well as a new ‘Tank Top’ look for characters Karl and Monika.
Players purchasing the DLC will be able to make use of the Win & Co 1885 weapon pack, which includes the rifle itself and attachments. A rifle that packs a serious punch, the Win & Co 1885 doesn’t fire at a particularly fast pace, but it does use a rather large .50 caliber 50-110 round which can eliminate any enemy with a single shot. Alongside this, players will also get their hands on the powerful but ingeniously stealthy ERMA.36, which is a new submachine gun that has an integrated suppressor and high muzzle velocity.
The “Kraken’s Lair” map will be the second free multiplayer map for Sniper Elite 5, which looks to be repeating its previous formula of free content plus an additional pack of DLC that players can purchase if they wish to. In addition to the new content, Rebellion has released the latest set of patch notes for Sniper Elite 5, with some of the main fixes listed below.
