Despite having had plenty of additional content thrown into the mix since its release in 2020, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has another major patch on the way. Update 1.6.1 will be available tomorrow, September 27, and while it may be one of the title’s last major content releases, it will give players plenty to do for the foreseeable future.
The new update will continue the Tombs of the Fallen DLC released last year, while also introducing the Ravensthromp building, allowing players to alter and optimize their runes. The Oskoreia Festival seasonal event will also be introduced with this patch, and all of these additions will be available to all players regardless of which DLC they have purchased in the past.
Pack 2 of Tombs of the Fallen will see the story’s confusion, and players will need to make their way through three tombs filled with puzzles and traps. The aforementioned Oskoreia Festival will run from October 20 until November 10, and will task players with defending their settlement from evil spirits.
Valhalla managed to sell more copies in the first week than any other Assassin’s Creed title prior, also becoming the second most profitable Ubisoft title of all time. Since release, three story expansions have followed–Wrath of the Druids, The Siege of Paris, and Dawn of Ragnarok.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was first released on November 10, 2020. This twelfth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series is available to play on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The next major game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, is scheduled for release sometime in 2023. Mirage will take place in Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age.
