More Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay Footage Coming Soon

September 21, 2022 by Todd Black

We’d like to see a little more magic.

When you’re trying to sell a video game before it comes out, there are a few things that you need to do. You need to show off trailers that tease what the game will be like to play, and you need to ensure that gamers know what they’re getting into before they toss their hard-earned cash at your title. For games like Hogwarts Legacy, a title that is going to be a lot about going to school and doing magic, the gameplay is vital. The devs have been teasing for a while now that this is going to be a deep experience to help fulfill the dreams of Harry Potter fans around themselves. Going to Hogwarts? That’s been a dream for millions upon millions for decades.

The marketing team for the game has spent a lot of time recently showing off the title in as many ways as possible, from allowing players to see the dorms of the four main houses, to teasing the exclusive quest players will gain access to if they snag the PlayStation version of the game and revealing certain paths they can take in terms of the storyline. The one thing they really haven’t been doing though is showing off the actual gameplay of the title. They’ve shown a little, to be sure, but fans are starving for more.

Enter Chandler Wood, the Community Manager for the team at Avalanche, who made a post stating that the team is hard at work on what they’re going to be showcasing soon.

“We’re already working hard on the next thing (and the next and the next…). No specifics yet, but we’re keenly aware you’ve been asking to see more gameplay…”

Yes, they know what the fans are asking for, and hopefully, this means that they will be showing something along the lines of a gameplay demo soon enough. Even a bit of footage showing a player character running through Hogwarts would be enough to get people excited for now.

When the comments rolled in, Wood also seemed to confirm that the next Hogwarts Legacy Showcase would be coming before January arrives. That would seem to indicate that there will be at least one more big showing before the year ends–smart, given that the game is now coming out in February 2023.

To be honest, gamers aren’t truly asking for much in terms of gameplay reveals. They just want to know what it’s going to feel like to truly be attending Hogwarts, as well as how casting spells will work with a controller.

The game is about you creating your own young witch or wizard and going on your own adventure through Hogwarts. Will you be playing when it comes out next year?
