Is Gungrave G.O.R.E Heading To Game Pass?

August 30, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

Get ready for a gory bullet ballet.

The stylish upcoming shooter action Gungrave G.O.R.E has just been given a release date. The third-person gunslinging-meets-martial arts game is a resurrection of the original Gungrave franchise from 2004. Its new release date of November 22 for PC and consoles has many fans of the original game pretty excited. However, a new bit of insider information suggests that Gungrave G.O.R.E may also be heading to Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release.

As spotted recently by an eagle-eyed Twitter user MauroNL, a promotional email newsletter from Xbox has included the game in a list of upcoming titles heading to its popular subscription service. The marketing email seems to be currently doing the rounds in parts of Europe, with the original one spotted in Dutch and a similar one also reportedly going out to users in France and Germany. The email puts Gungrave G.O.R.E alongside games such as Pentiment and High on Life as titles that members of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be able to play on day one.

Gungrave G.O.R.E. might be coming to Game Pass on release, according to a promotional e-mail from Xbox.

Whether or not we get official confirmation on this at a later point for other players on Xbox in different regions, we’ll just have to wait and see. Gungrave G.O.R.E looks set to bring some high-intensity combat and pistol-packing action as protagonist Grave. The character is a bit of an antihero, using a transformable coffin amongst his arsenal of tricks and skills as he takes out enemies left, right and centre. The news of the game’s November release has also been accompanied by a new launch date trailer. You can check it out here to get a feel for the deadly, click vibes of Gungrave G.O.R.E for yourself.

As well as playing as the titular hairstyle king Grave, players can also get to grips with fellow team members Bunji, Dr Aso, and Mika, who are all on a mission to take out the witch known as Big Wushen, evil crocodile-skin-suited Turonty, blade maiden Yensen and all-around big boy Ganpo. It all looks very high-stakes and one that fans of brawling, gun blasting and katana-style combat will get a real kick out of.

If the game does make it to Game Pass on day one then it’ll join an ever-growing roster of incredible titles heading to Xbox towards the latter part of this year. Gungrave G.O.R.E looks like a great reimagining of the title for old-school Gungrave players but should also appeal to newcomers to the franchise thanks to its warring-faction-based gameplay.

The exciting-looking action game will be launching on November 22 on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. We’ll be keeping an ear to the ground for any further news on its potential day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass.
