Dawn of War 2 isn’t just an RTS. It also comes packed with a Last Stand mode reminiscent of Horde Mode in Gears of War 3. Also available as a standalone title from Steam, players can engage in online battles against hordes upon hordes of AI-controlled enemy forces as they struggle to defend the base with their commanders.
As you play Last Stand, your Commander receives experience points, gear, and upgrades to further improve your chances against the swarm. These upgrades are persistent, and stay with you in future games.
Today, Steam has updated the client for Dawn of War 2: Retribution to include the Tau Commander as a playable character. The Tau Commander can best be described as a Soviet Commissar in mechanized armor called a Crisis Battlesuit. Armed with lasers, a shield, and a small swarm of drones, the Tau Commander is a juggernaut to be reckoned with.
The Tau Commander can be a walking death machine, a destructive force, or a close support system for his allies. He is now available for purchase on Steam for $9.99.
