Controversy has surrounded EVE of late, as players banded together and protested CCP's development focus. Instead of giving players the types of features they wanted, CCP released updates and expansions that focused on cosmetic features and items, for instance.
A back and forth was had between the studio and players, and it seems that the players have won out. The CEO of CCP Games, Hilmar Veigar Petursson apologized to the community at large, took responsibility of the actions taken by the studio, and just recently, has offered a discount to former players. Instead of paying almost 15 dollars, players who discontinued the service during the summer have received an email offering them 30 days of subscription for only $4.95.
A discount is a nice starting point for sure, but hopefully CCP starts walking the walk and players start seeing the developments and improvements that they want.
