VG24/7 introduces us to Heroes and Generals, which is (get ready for a mouthful) a persistent World War 2 shooter strategy game being developed by Reto-Moto, founders of IO interactive. Like most announcements, there is an accompanying trailer–in which you can see inspiring war quotes, a list of features and, most importantly, some gameplay footage. Check it out:
It's an introduction trailer, so there's not a whole lot of concrete info there, but we still have some info that's not just buzzwords and marketing-speak. For instance, Heroes and Generals will be playable in web browser, which players can get an early glimpse at soon. If an alpha-key sounds interesting, you can sign up for one at the official website, here. The strategy element refers to some aspects of a General's gameplay, whereas the rest of the game–the typical 'fast-paced' FPS combat–refers to what the 'Heroes' will be able to do. What does this mean, exactly? Hopefully we'll be informed of such specifics soon!
