Racing fans can get their "rolling start" on once again with the upcoming release of Daytona USA for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 later this month. The game is set for release on October 26 in the United States, and in late November in Europe. The consoles are set to see a new version of the game on both PSN and Xbox Live platforms for $9.99 or 800 MS Points.
Since its arcade debut almost two decades ago, Daytona USA has held its place in videogame history thanks to its colorful tracks, ridiculous music (Brue Brue Skies!) and head-to-head multiplayer gameplay. According to Sega, the game's iconic soundtrack has been preserved and remastered for this new version of the game.
The new version of Daytona USA will offer retro graphics in what the publisher calls an "enhanced, 16:9 widescreen format." Additionally, you'll be able to sing along with the game's music in a newly added Karaoke Mode. Daytona USA supports steering wheel controllers like the Logitech GT Driving Force on the PlayStation 3, and all Xbox 360-supported wheel controllers. Finally, players can race against each other online with up to 8 players, to place on a worldwide leaderboard.
