Destruction is touted as one of the pillars of Battlefield 3's gameplay. The others being Teamwork and Big Ass Maps. To exhibit just how much destruction the game contains, Electronic Arts and DICE have released a new trailer showcasing the game's highly destructible environments.
Anyone who's played in the Beta will note how much of the environment was indestructible during the Beta, possibly because DICE was still tweaking the Frostbite engine's destruction system at the time and disabled much of that for the duration of the test. Thankfully, it's fully enabled in the video, so it gives us a chance to see what the game actually looks like when it gets released in a couple of weeks.
It's curious to see if the tower in Caspian Border can be manually destroyed or if it's a part of a triggered event that happens during Rush mode when the attacking team moves forward.
Battlefield 3 is set for a PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 release this September 25th.
