Given the massive success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this was Marvel’s first successful foray into creating movies for its characters. You’d be wrong, as long before the MCU ever happened, there were other popular films that recieved ample audience attention and praise, Not the least of which were the first two Blade films starring Wesley Snipes.
Regardless, those movies set a tone for films to follow, and while Wesley Snipes himself has long since finished playing that role, he’s up for coming back.
“Never say never. Long as I’m healthy and in shape, I can rock with them,” the Blade star said in an interview. “Yeah, as far as my predictions on if something like that happened in future, I don’t know. I don’t know. It seems to me if it would’ve happened, it would’ve happened already. But hey, never say never.”
That’s true, given how in recent years we’ve seen tons of actors return to roles they never thought they’d get to play again. As for a potential cameo in an MCU film…
“No, not as of yet,” Snipes reveals before going on to joke, “I’m still working on my acting skills. So when I come up as an actor, maybe they’ll reach out and say, ‘Let’s have a conversation,’ or maybe they don’t feel I’m ensemble player.”
For those who don’t remember, there is a Blade movie announced for the MCU that will star Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali, who made a VERY brief cameo in Eternals. Still, that has given fans a lot of hope, and so who knows what might happen with it going forward.
