Hyrule Warriors Legends Finally Releases Linkle Trailer In Time

December 3, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

She’s learned a nifty new trick since the last time we saw her, too,

At long last we have it. Koei Tecmo have released a Hyrule Warriors Legends character trailer dedicated to the most famous Legend of Zelda character that hasn’t actually appeared in a game yet, Linkle.

I won’t repeat introductions again, but this trailer does show there have been some tweaks to Linkle’s gameplay. If her initial reveal described her as an energetic fighter, who jumps as she shoots, her character trailer reveals a clearer strategic characteristic; knockback.

Linkle doesn’t leverage her range most of the time. However, her attacks combo both crossbow pokes, arrow strikes, and kicks. These attacks can throw opponents off a decent distance, and so she also has to keep jumping in and striking them again. If you’ve played the Barbarian in Diablo, this looks like a similar style, only with more energy.

Linkle does appear to have a specific move that temporarily shifts her to over the shoulder view. However, it’s clear from the trailer she has most power and effectiveness using her combos.

Her final move may have also changed. Whereas her reveal teased her spinning kick, this trailer ends with a curious jumping attack involving the bomb.

Here’s what we still don’t know for sure about Linkle;

·         Is she Link’s sister?

·         Where did she learn to use dual crossbows?

·         What’s the significance of the watch?

Care to wager any fan theories? Feel free to share them with us in the comments. Hyrule Warriors Legends will be released exclusively for 3DS in Q1 2016.
