Live A Live Shows Off “Secret” Medieval Character Story

June 16, 2022 by Todd Black

This 2D-HD remake is shaping up to be one of the best RPGs of the year.

Live A Live is an RPG adventure that is coming to the Nintendo Switch on July 22nd. Atypical in how it presents its story, the game doesn’t have one main character. Instead, it has seven scattered across time and space, and each one has a very different story to tell. Today, Nintendo revealed on Twitter that there is a secret eighth path that will open up once you play and beat all other paths.

Embark on a journey to defeat the Lord of Dark! Become a brave champion looking to save his kingdom in one of many stories from #LIVEALIVE, coming to #NintendoSwitch on 7/22.https://t.co/oUATJRc2Bn pic.twitter.com/teTmTmsyPJ

This new path takes place in the age of medieval warriors, and players will control a knight who is trying to save a princess from a great darkness. Not unlike a typical RPG, you must go and travel the land, recruiting allies in order to make a party strong enough to fight the darkness. All in all, this is a nice reward for players who stick with the game from start to finish.

The other paths that have been revealed are equally as interesting. This includes a ninja trying to save his country, a martial arts master trying to find a new student to carry on his legacy, an outlaw trying to save a small town from bandits, a fighter trying to be the best in the world, and others.

Live A Live as a whole is aiming to be one of the best RPGs of the year despite it being a 2D-HD remake of a title from the 1990s. Don’t let that fool you–some of the best games are from ages gone by, and as many have noted online, the visual overhaul is very noticeable.

We’re only about a month away from the release of the game, so fans won’t have to wait too much longer to play.
