Sony has acceded to fan demand and has greenlit the physical release of Gravity Rush Remastered on PlayStation 4 for the US.
This follows earlier announcements for a physical release in Japan and Europe, but not in the US, which would have only gotten a digital release.
While fans can be vocal about physical releases of popular games, the data shows otherwise, as digital downloads continue to be on the rise, growing 11 % year on year last October. Whether fans ask for a physical version is dependent mostly on the popularity of individual games in question.
Sony Computer Entertainment America head of software marketing Asad Qizilbash confirmed the rerelease on Twitter:
Shortly thereafter, the game came up for pre-order on Amazon. You can see the listing and buy it here.
Gravity Rush is the brainchild of Siren and Silent Hill director Keiichiro Toyama. In a break from his previous horror game experience, it’s a sci-fi fantasy action game reminiscent of a Moebius comic. Its key mechanic is gravity control, allowing a form of flight, wall walking, and a powerful gravity kick.
Gravity Rush Remastered will come with all DLC, and will be released in the US on February 9, 2016.
