“It’s a feature that didn’t make it in time for BETA,” reads a message posted by DICE employee Barry “Bazajaytee” Tingle on the official Battlefield 3 forums, who’s referring to the ability to bring up the menu while you’re dead in the game.
It’s amusing how the most simple things can elicit feelings of excitement from fans of the game—myself included. Many have been skeptical about the state of the game, judging from the experience offered by the Beta, so updates like these should put some of those fears to rest.
You might read this as “Why can’t I ragequit more quickly?” but jokes aside, the ability to access the menu when you’re dead is a welcome change for a game that otherwise locks you into watching a visual of the guy who killed you last. At least you’ll be able to mess about with your configuration settings once this change goes into the retail version of the game.
