Microsoft has revealed a new trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Named Make Your Mark, it’s a nice sneak peek at more of the backstory behind Lara’s latest outing, with some new revelations.
As you may already know, in this version of the Tomb Raider universe, Croft’s father is a disgraced archaeologist, distinguishing him from his erstwhile inspiration, Henry Jones Sr. Whereas Henry kept his search for the Holy Grail going with his university position intact, Richard Croft toiled like a conspiracy theorist, searching for ancient secrets to immortality.
So the game starts with Lara receiving a long delayed letter from her father (delivered by her friend Hanna) that prompts Lara to take a trip to Syria, that seemingly takes face to face with the goons from Trinity. Trinity knows Richard Croft, and they definitely know Lara.
This dalliance in Syria convinces Lara her father was on the right trail, taking her to the trek we already know she’s taking, to Syberia. Check out the trailer above for a peek at the passion of Lara, featuring I Shall Rise, the theme song from Yeah Yeah Yeahs vocalist Karen O.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is releasing November 10 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It will come to Windows later this year, and then PlayStation 4 in late 2016.
