Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is introducing a new mode designed to help new players get used to first person perspective games.
Free Run eschews the violence for some challenge based courses, allowing you to learn thrust jumps, slides, and the different ways to navigate the map. Think Mirror’s Edge or Lemma, but multiplayer. There are weapon based challenges too, but these seem to still be more like obstacle courses than fighting arenas. Miss a shot and get a one second penalty. Each course will vary in environment and difficulty. It’s implied that there’s enough in Free Run to keep beginners preoccupied for a while.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6, 2015 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows.
