Microsoft is changing the way it approaches midnight launches with Halo 5: Guardians, to reflect the fact that many players are now buying their games digitally.
The publisher will be adapting its strategy for 343 Industries' shooter's launch on October 27th, in the six hours leading up to the game's release on the West Coast of the United States, Microsoft and YouTube are partnering for a range of programming to mark the launch.
Among the content is a full stream of the first episode off The Fall of Reach animated series, actor Nathan Fillion and the game's writers will be hosting a roundtable, and there will be documentaries featuring superfans of the series.
Events will also be hosted in New Zealand, Hong Kong, London, New York, and other locations. Full details are available on the Xbox Wire. Halo fans in London can try to win access to a launch event at The Roundhouse, while those in New York can visit the launch event in the Microsoft Store at 53rd and Fifth.
