NCSoft has just announced that it will be bringing two of the company's most successful Korean MMORPGs to Steam this Fall. The two titles, Lineage II and Aion, will be available on Steam in North America.
Lineage II is one of the longest-running MMOs in history, maintaining a strong presence throughout the years thanks to the release of multiple expansions. The game recently celebrated its 11th anniversary with the Infinite Odyssey expansion, showing NCSoft's dedication to the on-going game.
Aion was launched in 2008 and revealed to North America in 2009, going free to play in 2012. This past June, the developers released Aion: Upheaval, adding a host of free content to the game.
“Bringing Lineage II and Aion to Steam was a natural next step for both titles to further grow their prominence in the West,” said NCSoft's Jeff Pabst. “Both Lineage II and Aion have dedicated fan-bases, and we’re excited to work with Steam to enable even more players to experience these heritage titles.”
The company will be taking advantage of Steam to reach millions of active users on the platform, including digital library access through Steam's cloud servers and community support. Steam will allow the studio to provide auto updates, including future expansions and content additions for both games.
